Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-Soo discusses the role of Korea in a globalized world. As a strategic hub and home to Samsung, Hyundai-Kia Motors, LG Electronics, and LG Display, Gyeonggi Province recorded $41.4 billion in exports for the first half of 2010. Governor Kim will speak about developing Korea as a key economic hub in Northeast Asia and the importance of the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA).
Governor Kim Moon-Soo is focused on realizing the potential of Gyeonggi and improving Korea’s global competitiveness. He has advocated eliminating unreasonable regulations in the Seoul metropolitan area, building local public transportation, expanding infrastructure to attract foreign investors, and creating jobs by attracting more foreign businesses and reinforcing the competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises. Governor Kim received the Forbes Management Quality Award for public innovation in 2007 and for leadership in 2009, a distinction awarded by Forbes Korea and the Korean Society for Quality Management.
