Description:
The Korea Society’s President is seeking an exceptional intern with demonstrated interest and background in business and corporate affairs related to the Asia-Pacific, especially Korea. We are seeking an intern with strong research/writing skills as well as interest in the following areas: East-Asia Policy and Economics, International Policy and Development, Geopolitical Strategy and Security, Finance, Foreign Investment Trends, Trade & Economics, KORUS FTA, as it relates to the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.
Responsibilities:
- * Act as the primary research assistant to the President of The Korea Society and conduct research on economic and policy issues including analyzing market trends and indicators
- * Assist the President with research to compile PowerPoint presentations, speeches, Op-Ed pieces or press statements, as needed
- * Act as an event rapporteur for policy & corporate programs and write event summaries, as needed
- * Monitor and highlight key developments on the Korean Peninsula and East Asia and disseminate an E-brief to the President, and Senior Policy & Corporate staff
Qualifications:
- * Graduate student with an interest in Korea and East Asia
- * Background in international trade, corporate finance, business, trade and/or economics as well as an interest in Asia-Pacific issues, especially Korea
- * Strong research and writing skills in English with excellent attention to detail
- * Self-driven with a professional demeanor and a desire to excel
- * Proficiency with office productivity applications, including Excel and Powerpoint
- * Experience with quantitative and qualitative research and analysis
- * Ability to research in Korean language
- * Sense of humor
Schedule:
Internships are unpaid positions. Please note that we do not provide visa support. Candidates are required to commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, and 3-5 days per week, or the equivalent of 20-40 hours per week.
