Prominent Korean food director Soo Jin Kim takes us behind-the-scenes of creating and styling food for countless hit TV dramas and films, including The King and the Clown, Gourmet, Kimchi Family, That Winter, the Wind Blows, Warm and Cozy, and currently airing Six Flying Dragons. She also shares exclusive clips of sets she has worked on and shares stories of her lifelong experience in overseeing food for the screen as the first-ever food director in the Korean entertainment industry. She demonstrates food styling tips for both simple and difficult dishes as she recreates some from her past works. The English interpretation and Q&A will be led by Shin Kim, culinary instructor and founder of Banchan Story, and Korean snacks will be provided.

About the Speaker
Soo Jin Kim has directed food design and styling for hit Korean films such as Marital Harmony (2015), I Am a King (2012), Le Grand Chef 2 (2009), A Frozen Flower (2008), Portrait of a Beauty (2008), Le Grand Chef (2006), King and the Clown (2005), and Korean drama series such as Fermentation Family (2011). She also participated in the “International Education of Korean Cuisine Employment” hosted by Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation, the Shanghai SIAL EXPO Food Exhibition, the Korean Cuisine event hosted by the Istanbul Consulate, and The Taste of Korea Hanshik hosted by Korean Food Foundation. Furthermore, her work has been exhibited in the Kimchi Exhibition Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace, and in SEOUL FOOD hosted by KOTRA in both 2011 and 2012.
