Everyone’s invited to attend our open house where Korea comes to life as we explore a different theme each K-Night! On Tuesday, April 30 join a night of fun and culture that’s all about King Sejong and experience what The Korea Society has to offer.
King Sejong is considered to have been one of the most outstanding and influential Korean kings of the Chosǒn Kingdom (1392-1910). Born in 1397, Sejong succeeded to the throne at the age of 22 and his reign, which lasted more than 30 years, was a period of great advancement in Korea in science, technology, and the arts. But the invention that King Sejong is most remembered for today, is that of hangul, the Korean alphabet.
Celebrate King Sejong’s legacy -- learn hangul, practice Korean brush painting, listen to an interesting talk on King Sejong’s life, view an exhibit of Bojagi, and preview our new online resource on the Choson Kingdom. Plus watch an award-winning historical K-drama! We’ll have drinks and Kosofresh will be on-site selling its signature Koso-bap if you’d like a bite to eat.
