Let’s ring in the year 2023 with us!
The Korea Society is pleased to invite you to our members-only Annual Membership Appreciation Party on Thursday, January 26, beginning at 6:30 PM EST.
Our Membership Party is one of our flagship events to express our deep sense of gratitude for our members and acknowledge their invaluable support throughout the year. The event will be full of festivities, delicious food, and networking. We will also draw winners for our silent auction and raffle that will be wonderful new year’s gifts! A live concert by G-Hwaja, a creative music band featuring a blend of Western and Korean traditional instruments, will be held to enliven the night. Don’t miss out on this special performance by G-Hwaja to get yourself into the spirit of heung, or “joy”!
Become a member or renew your membership today and enjoy the special evening filled with music, gifts, and love for Korea!

About G-Hwaja
G-Hwaja performs creative music through a collaboration of Western and Korean traditional instruments, melding disparate tones and styles. The group seeks to express the emotions of the times in a dramatic way by utilizing the uniquely expressive characteristics of Korean traditional music - particularly its sense of excitement known as Hueng and the bittersweet sense of grief known as Han - to deliver familiar music with new emotional dimensions. G-Hwaja strives to popularize Korean traditional music by delivering a dynamic and vivid image of Korean to the modern world. Since its creation, G-Hwaja had its first performance at the John F Kennedy Center in Washington D.C last year in February.
