For those interested in Beginning Korean II or higher, we ask that you take one of the placement tests below. This process ensures that you will register for the course most suitable for you.

Placement exams for the Spring 2025 term are now open. Please click on one of the links immediately below to access the appropriate test.

Not sure which Placement Exam to take?
Those who know some Korean and are above a Beginning Korean I level to a low intermediate level should take the Beginning Placement exam. Those who are at a mid-intermediate to advanced level should take the Intermediate/Advanced Placement exam.

Need further info about your placement? 
After receiving your placement results, you will be asked if If you would like to discuss your placement further or take a speaking test to potentially be placed in a different course. Interested in Beginning I or Fast-Track Beginning I classes?
No placement exam is needed, and you can proceed directly to registration. Please note that Fast-track Beginning Korean I is for those with some background with Korean and knowledge of the alphabet, Hangeul.
