Join us for the next program in our Young Professionals’ Network series, presented by The Korea Society in partnership with the Korean American Community Foundation (KACF). This event will feature a dynamic panel discussion with successful entrepreneurs, including Melissa Shin Mash, co-founder of Dagne Dover; Eunice Byun, co-founder of Material Kitchen; and Wonny Lee, co-founder of ELOREA

Hear from three accomplished Korean entrepreneurs as they discuss how they integrate and celebrate culture within their brands and emphasize the importance of giving back to the community. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain insights, network with like-minded professionals, and find inspiration in your own career journey.

About the Speakers:

 
 

Melissa Shin Mash is Co-founder and CEO of performance bag brand, Dagne Dover. Melissa came up with the idea for Dagne while leading the turn-around at Coach's first UK/EU location in 2009, where she saw the opportunity for a culturally-relevant, digitally-native bag brand that paired performance materials with smart design. Today, Melissa is always thinking about ways to live smarter and better – through the products and services we use – to the workplace policies that push our society forward. Melissa and her co-founders are passionate about setting a new standard of leadership, company culture, and workplace norms in hopes of creating a better society. Melissa is a graduate of New York University (BA) and The Wharton School of Business (MBA).

 
 
 

Eunice Byun is the co-founder and CEO of Material, the go-to destination for today's home cooks. Material designs high-quality, material-conscious goods for cooking, dining and hosting. Since launching in 2018, Material has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Oprah's Favorite Things and GQ's Best Stuff of The Year. Eunice started her career at Goldman Sachs, has helped launch and advise several start-ups in the consumer space, and was most recently Head of Digital at Revlon. Her favorite weeknight dish to cook (and eat) is doenjang-jjigae. Outside of work, Eunice can be found chasing her two daughters (9 and 4) around the city. Eunice graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Learning and Organizational Change.

 
 
 

Wonny Lee is the CEO of ELOREA, a Korean inspired fragrance and lifestyle brand aimed at capturing, preserving, and sharing stories of the country's culture. Wonny has nearly 20 years of experience operating and investing in consumer brands with a digitally native strategy. Beginning his career at Samsung America Investments at 19 years old with a focus on e-Sports and consumer investments. Over his career, Wonny has had 3 successful consumer brand exits, including one IPO with Turtle Beach. He’s an award-winning operator with a proven track record of scaling brands.

Suzanne Kim sits on the Global Marketing team at Goldman Sachs, managing the brand's social media channels, strategy, and creative. A storyteller at heart, she began her career in journalism at NBC News, and most recently at CBS News, where she was a social producer for CBS Mornings and CBS Saturday Morning. She also serves on the Associate Board of the Korean American Community Foundation, dedicated to promoting philanthropy and helping empower the greater Korean American community. Her hobbies include over-ordering at restaurants, singing in her cover band, and scouring Zillow for homes she can't afford. Suzanne holds a B.A. in Media, Culture & Communication from New York University.
