At our first brown bag lunch for young professionals, Dr. Kyung-wha Kang, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator in the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, sits down with NY1’s reporter Vivian Lee for a candid conversation on a wide-range of timely topics, including humanitarian aid, the Philippines disaster recovery efforts, and North Korea. Dr. Kang has had a remarkable career in government and public service and she will also talk about her career path, working at the U.N., and managing work-life balance.

Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to fostering the next generation of foreign policy leaders. With branches in Washington, DC, New York, London, and Brussels, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy provides young professionals with the knowledge, skills, exposure, and relationships to tackle critical global challenges over the course of their careers.  The New York branch of YPFP, founded in 2007, consists of a growing network of over 1,000 young professionals working in financial institutions, international organizations, consulting firms and non-profits.  YPFP: NY serves its members through its numerous lecture series, leadership skills workshops, discussion groups, social and networking events, and through partner events with leading foreign policy institutions and international organizations in New York City.

Since our first launch in 2011 summer, GORI has become one of the most recognized Korean networking groups with our 1,000+ membership base.
