For those interested in Beginning Korean 2 or higher, we ask that you take one of the placement tests below. This process ensures that you will register for the course most suitable for you.

Not sure which Placement Exam to take?
Those who know some Korean and are above a Beginning Korean I level to a low intermediate level should take the Beginning Placement exam. Those who are at a mid-intermediate to advanced level should take the Intermediate/Advanced Placement exam.
Need further info about your placement?
After receiving your placement results, you will be asked if If you would like to discuss your placement further or take a speaking test to potentially be placed in a different course. Youyou can set up a 30-minute Zoom call with the reviewer at that point. You can also email us at any time at
Interested in Beginning I or Fast-Track Beginning I classes?
No placement exam is needed, and you can proceed directly to registration. Please note that Fast-track Beginning Korean I is for those with some background with Korean and knowledge of the alphabet, Hangeul.
